Chane A2.4

Sold Individually

Left, right, and center

The A2.4 is a multi-purpose, medium format, symmetrical main home theater speaker with a unique, effective design. Use it horizontally as a center channel speaker or vertically for left and right channels.  Either way it looks good and fits in well.  Many A2.4 users call it the best they've ever heard.

A new A2 is under development. See here for more, and email us to reserve.

The Re-imagined High-Tech Main Loudspeaker

Conventional 3-driver or MTM* center speakers may limit clean, off-axis dispersion, making them difficult to hear. More elaborate designs don't work well as vertical main speakers because of their asymmetrical driver layouts.

Chane's 4th-generation A2.4 is different. Use the A2.4 as a highly intelligible horizontal center speaker. Stand a pair vertically for fabulous sound in two-channel stereo. Use all three for a seamless-sounding home theater speaker system.

A Fabulous LCR Speaker

The LCR** A2.4 is just as thrilling as a main speaker. For superb stereophonic sound, a pair of vertical A2.4s create an enormous, transparent soundscape with excellent focus and image. They even work as rear speakers in larger systems.

Real sound quality and versatility is the A2.4's wide appeal for center, stereo pair, or perfectly matched 3.0 channel front stage. It's the true LCR specifically optimized for wide, even dispersion, natural acoustical dynamics, and a big sound stage.

The Tech

The A2.4's special aligned array greatly improves linearity. On-axis and short-axis response is +/-3dB, and long-axis response within a 40 degree arc is a tight +/- 5dB. Inter-driver timing is optimized for exceptional acoustic focus too. 100% Chane design optimizes the A2.4 for a remarkably linear, smooth character and an enormous, lifelike acoustical image.

  • SplitGap XBL2 midwoofer. Radically improved linearity for up to twice the clean output. Real fundamental bass from an affordable compact speaker.
  • Chane's planar leaf tweeter: High surface area, vanishingly low mass, and extreme treble extension. Faster, more detailed treble to over 30kHz.
  • Premium crossover: Large-gauge inductors, higher grade poly film capacitors, and special audio-grade resistors support Chane's superior tech.
  • Heavy cabinet: Nearly twice the weight of some conventional speakers in the class, Chane's extra-grade casework keeps things cleaner, quieter.

There are no regular drivers in an A2.4. The A2.4's rotatable flat planar leaf tweeter suits vertical or horizontal use - one model becomes a powerful option for all channels. Chane's tandem 5.25" SplitGap midwoofers with XBL2 technology precisely sum with the flat panel tweeter for linear and predictable response.

What is XBL2? It's how we virtually double clean, dynamic speaker output. Drop us a line for the white paper - it's real tech and only Chane offers it for this little.

Bass tuning options convert the A2.4 from full range use to the classic 80Hz+ range for subwoofers. Open-port, the A2.4's aerodynamically-flared rear port reinforces full low frequencies. Stop the bass port with the included charcoalester foam plug and convert to a shallower cutoff for subs.

Purpose-built, Right Down to the Small Details

Chane's planar leaf tweeter has an all-aluminum faceplate lens for tighter, smoother response to well beyond 30kHz. The crossover incorporates hand-tuning and CAD to create startlingly realistic images in a large sound stage. The A2.4's thick, acoustically dense cabinet is perimeter-braced and up to a twice as heavy, and with heavy internal acoustical treatment keeps the sound clean. The rear port won't project unwanted energy forward, and gold-plated twist terminals accept thick gauge audio cables.

The extra-duty A2.4 is finished in the same stealthy simulated black ash as the rest of the line and includes a removable black knit grille and an acoustical port plug to optionally convert the A2.4 to sealed operation for use with a subwoofer.

I have owned this speakers for about 7 months and use them primarily for Home Theater purposes (at least once a day), they are connected to a 2018 Denon-X3500H Receiver which is connect to a LG-OLED C8 (2018 version). I do not use a SubWoofer (in an apartment, would be too loud), and use 4 rear speakers (small energy satellite speakers), I use the Chane 1.5's as my Left and Right. I very much enjoy this setup, the sound is clear and detailed. The only speakers I have owned/own that I can compare these to are the Energy's, a pair of Sony Core speakers, HTD Level 3 bookshelf, Polk S-15 bookshelf, and Polk LSIM Center Speaker. I personally think these are better all-around speakers, delivering just enough bass, highs, and clarity in dialogue.

I was surprised to learn that Chane resides about 1 hour away from me in Tampa, Florida. I am pretty blown away by my experience with the A2.4. I had read quite a few glowing reviews, so I had anticipated that it would at least be good, but it has exceeded all expectations. I would definitely describe the sound as "neutral" but I don't believe that means it lacks personality. Rather, I believe it is playing things the way they should sound in crystal clear quality. To me "neutral" can mean "flat" or "uninspiring" but that is not the case here. The A2.4 is just playing things the way they should sound. I can hear tiny, minutiae details like bacon or butter sizzling in a pan while watching cooking shows. Or watching Blue Planet II and hearing every single movement of the fish in the water, creating an ultra realistic environment that feels as though you are there.

I am so impressed with the A2.4 that I will undoubtedly be purchasing the A1.4's sometime in the near future. Jon is also a nice guy that I've had the pleasure of talking to on various fronts. I appreciate the attentiveness

I am very pleased with my Chane A2.4 speakers. I am using them as LCR, primarily TV and movies with occasional music play. They replaced E*** Debut 2.0 B6.2's and a C6.2. To my ears the Chane's are cleaner, more crisp and detailed. Dialogue was often difficult for me to hear with the E***'s unless I turned the volume up significantly higher than I otherwise would have it. I am noticing that with the Chane A2.4's the volume level setting is typically 4-5db lower and I understand the dialogue perfectly. For music listening it is more of the same, the E*** MAY reach a touch lower frequency but the Chane sound is much clearer. I use a 15" Rythmik subwoofer with them (I also used with the E***'s.) so i am not concerned about the lower end frequencies. For me and my purposes, the A2.4's are a perfect fit. I am hoping the L3-6-7 arrive soon... There is a good chance I will be buying them too!

A very, very good speaker to begin with compared to my E*** Debut 6.0 but it still need more hours to break in. But I have no doubt that these speakers will be a awesome sounding speakers. Presently, I am not thinking of returning them because I already like them even if they still needs more hours of playing music before reaching full potential. I might purchase 1 more A2.4 for the center to make LCR combo.

I got 2 A1.5's and an A2.4 for my living room home theater (about 50/50 music and HT). It's a big space - around 5000 ft^3 - and these more than fill it with sound with headroom to spare. They are incredibly neutral, so much more so than what I was used to that it took me a little while to adjust. But now, whether it's metal or classical, I'm hearing things I never knew I was missing. I tend to agree with the consensus that there simply isn't anything that competes with these speakers for less than double the cost (and maybe not even then). These are the kind of speakers that people will be reminiscing about years from now.
