Chane L3

Sold Individually

An Audiophile Speaker Standard

Chane's L3 standmount speaker is a thoroughly modern reimagining of the classic medium-large reference 2-way stand monitor. Chane gave the L3 cutting edge components from a global leader, attractive acoustical casework, and a sophisticated electronic design.

Chane's L3 is a potent option in the popular 6.5" category and class, and defines real standout performance with superb value.

Design and technical sophistication in an affordable main speaker

Like all L Series models, the L3 deploys only top-quality drive units from renown SB Acoustics. The 6.5" long-travel midwoofer has a mineral-filled polypropylene cone in an exceptionally well-designed, low-resonance suspension. A special low-reactance motor gives the L3 tremendous musical finesse.

The L3's big 29mm ringdome tweeter delivers the response bandwidth for Chane's unique crossover, the heart of the speaker and the tuned design center that gives the L3 its big, open, spacious sound.

The linearity and acoustical power for home theater

With 20 liters internal volume, and using a substantial 165mm midwoofer, the L3 has excellent sensitivity and ample bass response for dynamic mixed media content. Use the L3 on stands with your favorite subwoofer for big, enveloping at-home theater, and pair it with Chane's matching L3c center to complete your system in a relatively compact, mixed-use space. The L Series good looks are complimented by its outstanding performance.

Designed as both an audiophile speaker and a home theater speaker, the L3 has the design and technological sophistication for extraordinary stereophonic music plus the technical linearity and acoustical size for home theater in mixed use living spaces.

Buy them

Why I bought them. Engineering, front baffle shaped with no sharp edges so it decreases diffraction, 26 pounds well braced cabinet decreases box resonance, ring dome tweeter, apex of dome tweeters is where distortion happens with break up, ring dome takes away the apex decreasing distortion, woofer with cast aluminum basket and light weight poly cone, got a quick look at crossover, solen poly caps no electrolytics, air core inductors, maybe 1 iron core, no sand cast resistors, even the grill has the inside edge rounded off for no sharp edges again decreasing diffraction and have magnetic attachment. What I have driving them, the sources, Technics 1210 GAE, Bel Canto e1 phono, bel canto e1 cd3t, bel canto e1 stream, bel canto e1 2.7 DAC, preamp Jolida fusion, power amp Odyssey Khartago, SVS sb12 plus sub, speakers sit on Target MR 24 inch stands sand filled for 83 pounds each side speaker included. Yes the speakers are the least expensive component in my system. why? because they are that good. Seriously go watch some videos of Danny Ritche from GR research breaking down some top name brand speakers and look at what you get for the money compared to these. Had these over a year now still loving them, 1 upgrade I made was KLEI low mass binding posts.

L3 Capsule Review

VERY neutral. I'm used to horn loaded, in your face treble. While not recessed by any means, the L3 play more like "as it was intended" I think. No false bumps in treble, bass etc.

SOOOOOO smooth, yet superb clarity. Every sound they play is perfectly audible and clear, but not "sterile". They just sound expensive.
